This presentation pairs nearly 30 years of Morehead's human capital research with work by leading social scientists to share both the empirical basis and practical application of commitment . We will illustrate the attitudinal and behavioral factors that drive specific business outcomes, such as improved patient satisfaction, and define HR metrics that are critical to any organization's performance scorecard. From a practical perspective, we will demonstrate how a framework founded on Workforce Commitment enables senior leaders to select and shape human capital initiatives, prioritize systemic change, and inform work unit interventions.

Presenters Info:
Shane Douthitt, Ph.D., Vice President, Business Development

Shane has 12 years of experience in the areas of measurement, talent management, executive assessment and coaching, and organizational development. He has practical experience across a variety of industries including banking, manufacturing, utilities, pharmaceuticals and information technology.

Before joining Morehead, Shane worked as a Human Resources Executive and Leadership Development Executive at Bank of America. Shane also worked as a consultant for Towers Perrin specializing in the design and delivery of integrated human resource systems. Prior to these experiences, Shane worked as a consultant at IBM, as well as holding various H.R. generalist roles. He has published several articles on a variety of topics, including measurement, teams, individual differences and diversity, employee selection, group dynamics, and cultural openness. Shane holds a master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Tulsa , and a master's degree and doctorate in applied psychology from the University of Georgia.
